About me

I am a Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapist with over 15 years experience. I also work with parents and offer support with psychological wellbeing and getting back to work.

What do people look for through Psychotherapy?

  • To feel heard
  • The possibility of Change and Choice
  • To get to the Root of their Issues
  • To understand their Thoughts and Feelings

I would hope that through our work together you will better understand yourself, develop new emotional and relational skills and coping strategies, and have an emotionally and psychologically rewarding experience of talking to someone without feeling judged.

All therapists must undertake psychotherapy as part of their training and my own experience of personal psychotherapy helped me to understand and like myself better. This, in turn, led to my becoming clearer about what I wanted and needed leading to real improvements in my sense of wellbeing, as well as greatly enhanced enjoyment of and satisfaction in all areas of my Life.

My personal leaning and approach is predominantly Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic. However, my initial training was Integrative and pluralistic and I don’t adhere to just one school of thought, giving me the flexibility to work organically and intuitively, responding to the individual needs of my clients.

My approach

I prioritise the providing of a confidential, safe, reliable and thoughtful therapeutic space where clients can “think together” with me about their Life and their relationships, getting to know themselves better. I aim to listen sensitively and with compassion to the ‘whole’ person.

As well as what is brought by my clients, I am mindful of what might be less easy to think about and what might be communicated unconsciously.

How therapy can help

I believe that change towards healthier self esteem and more enjoyable and satisfying relationships can happen organically through the therapeutic relationship. I hope to make possible an environment in which clients can explore their emotions and thought processes. This enhanced self knowledge can strengthen agency and resilience. I aim ultimately to help clients enhance and develop their own self care and self support systems so that they can help themselves improve their quality of life.
